Welcome to Camp Carmel Valley!
Meet Josie and Joaquin, our newest four-legged residents. They may be the bosses around here, but don't worry, I'm not a donkey - just one of the proud owners of this magical place.
I ditched the corporate rat race to re-create the joy of travel and put my hospitality know-how to good use. Turns out, animals have a special way of helping people find their purpose in life. So, I took a college course on running an animal sanctuary and volunteered at the legendary Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Kanab, Utah. Now, my best two-legged friends and I have our own little start-up sanctuary right here at Camp Carmel Valley.
This place is like a time machine - it was one of the first girls' camps in the US, founded by a remarkable woman who wanted to open the great outdoors to young adventurers. These days, we host weddings, corporate retreats, and even "glamping" experiences, with all the classic camp activities like pickleball, tennis, swimming, hiking, archery, yoga, and arts and crafts. And let's not forget the most important part - sitting in blissful silence, listening to the birds sing while sipping on a glass (or two) of vino.
