OPERATOR STORY
The chef-owner came to Laguna Beach in 1995 to open a restaurant in a former 1930s open-air market on Forest Avenue, where the original accordion-style wooden doors still hang. Trained on the East Coast and recognized with the National Silver Plate Award as the top independent restaurant operator in the country, the chef has worked the line here daily ever since. 230 Forest Avenue has been Laguna Beach's most consistent dining institution for three decades.
