Andrew Molera State Park

Andrew Molera State Park contains Big Sur's longest and most accessible beach, a broad, driftwood-strewn stretch of wild sand at the mouth of the Big Sur River, reached by a 20-minute walk through coastal meadow and riparian woodland. The bluff trail above the beach offers unobstructed Pacific views, reliably clear of fog in the morning hours. The park receives a fraction of Pfeiffer Beach's visitor numbers, giving it a wildness that feels proportionate to the landscape. Shorebird and raptor activity is highest in the early hours; steelhead pass through the river mouth seasonally.
