Located on the drive into Avila Beach, this family-owned farm features a hay maze, pony & tractor rides, classic barbecue dishes & local produce. A favorite place to stop off and buy the freshest fruit and vegetables grown locally, pick up a pie or bakery treat, hand feed and pet farm animals, stop off for lunch from our Smoke House and Chicken Shack, or get an ice cream on the way to Avila Beach. Avila Valley Barn is truly a place built with the whole family in mind.
Avila Valley Barn is a second generation farm owned by the Smith family. Debbie Smith was hired by the DeVincenzo family in 1986 to live at the farm and meet customers to sell fruit at the ring of a bell. During that time there wasn't a single tree planted nor was there any buildings. There was a simple pop-up tent and some boxes of fresh produce Debbie had picked up that morning straight from local farms.
Over the years Debbie became partners with the DeVincenzo family buying into the farm and taking ownership, adding all the amazing decor and experiences that the place is known for today. Her kids ran the tractor rides, corn stand, produce floor and ice cream shop with all of their friends. Two of their seven children, twins Jake and Jesse Smith, operate the farm continuing their parents legacy.
