EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION

Barndiva operates its own farm in Philo and builds the menu around the Sonoma County food shed, sourcing from local farmers, ranchers, and small-batch producers whose names the kitchen knows by name. The room is a converted barn space on Center Street, warm and unpretentious, with an open kitchen and a garden that feeds directly into the evening's dishes. The cooking is casual and deeply local in a way that feels hard-won rather than fashionable. Open Thursday through Monday from 5pm.

OPERATOR STORY

Barndiva was built and opened by a family partnership in the heart of Healdsburg and has been independently operated for over 20 years. The restaurant runs its own farm in Philo, sourcing ingredients from it directly, and has always framed itself around the Sonoma County food shed. The restaurant held a Michelin star for three consecutive years before deliberately stepping back from the multicourse format in 2024, returning to the casual, community-focused model the family originally had in mind.
