EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION
Café Beaujolais sits in an 1893 Victorian farmhouse on the edge of Mendocino village, its kitchen garden of antique roses and edible flowers visible through the dining room windows. The menu is built around what the North Coast provides: wild line-caught seafood from local fishermen, organic meats, and produce from Mendocino County farms, prepared in the French-California tradition the restaurant has carried for decades. The room is unhurried and candlelit, the kind of place where the meal takes the whole evening and that feels exactly right.
OPERATOR STORY
Café Beaujolais has been the defining restaurant of the Mendocino Coast since its founder purchased it in 1977 and transformed it into one of Northern California's most celebrated dining rooms: an 1893 Victorian farmhouse surrounded by a kitchen garden of antique roses and edible flowers. A family purchased the restaurant in 2016 and continues the founding ethos of local sourcing and French-California technique, built on wild line-caught seafood, organic meats, and Mendocino County farm produce.
