EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION
The museum occupies a small space in Capitola Village, a collection that runs deeper than its footprint suggests. After the museum, the village grid is small enough to explore entirely on foot: the old Venetian Court apartments, the Soquel Creek mouth, the fishing wharf, and the galleries along Capitola Avenue all within a few blocks.
OPERATOR STORY
The Capitola Historical Museum documents the full arc of life in the oldest seaside resort town on the Pacific Coast — from its origins as a Victorian summer resort destination to the Grand Capitola Hotel era, the Venetian Court development of the 1920s, and the village's evolution into the community it is today. The museum is volunteer-run and community-funded, occupying a small space in the village that punches well above its size in the depth of its collection and the care of its curation.
