EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION

Casanova has been serving regional French and Italian cuisine in a storybook Carmel cottage since 1974, the longest-running family-owned restaurant in the village. The interior is layered with European antiques, the menu shifts with the season, and the wine cellar holds thousands of bottles. The outdoor patio is one of the most atmospheric dinner settings in the village.

OPERATOR STORY

Casanova was opened in 1974 by the Georis family, who also own Corkscrew Cafe in Carmel Valley. It occupies a storybook cottage setting on Mission Street and has operated continuously as a family-run independent for over five decades, earning Michelin Guide recognition along the way. In 2002 a private dining room was built around the actual table from Auberge Ravoux, the French inn where Van Gogh took his daily meals during his final years. The wine cellar is one of the most extensive in the region.
