EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION
The kitchen at Chez Noir is seafood-centric and micro-seasonal, sourcing almost exclusively from Monterey Peninsula farms, fishermen, and foragers. Farmers deliver to the house. Boats come from the bay at sunset. The four-course prix fixe menu changes with what arrived that day. One of only two Michelin-starred restaurants in Carmel. Open Thursday through Monday from 5pm.

OPERATOR STORY
Chez Noir was opened in 2022 by Chef Jonny Black and Monique Black, who chose Carmel after honeymooning here years earlier. Jonny previously served as executive chef at Sierra Mar at Post Ranch Inn before opening Chez Noir. The restaurant earned its Michelin star within its first year and was a James Beard Best New Restaurant finalist. Jonny runs the kitchen; Monique runs the front of house. They live on the second floor above the dining room.
