Del Monte Beach is a hidden gem known to Monterey Bay locals. It’s tucked away from the main streets and located on the back side of a coastal housing community. To get here turn toward the ocean off Del Monte Avenue at Casa Verde Avenue. Follow the one-way road up Surf Way all the way to Tide Avenue and park along the street next to the dunes behind the beach. A wooden boardwalk winds through the fragile sand dunes, leading you to different areas of the beach. You might also find hidden treasures while beachcombing, as the presence of sea glass is a known delight for visitors here. If you're looking for a picnic spot, there are tables with benches along the boardwalk, perfect for enjoying a meal with a beautiful ocean view.
