EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION
Broad Street at dawn, before the shops open, is quiet and genuinely beautiful: iron-shuttered storefronts, hanging signs, gas-lamp-style streetlights, and forested hills rising above the rooflines on all sides. The Nevada City Farmers Market runs on Tuesdays, and the town's bookstores, galleries, and coffee shops reward a slow morning on foot. The whole circuit of the historic core takes about 90 minutes and there is almost always something unexpected around the next corner.
OPERATOR STORY
Nevada City’s downtown historic district is one of the most intact Gold Rush streetscapes in California with a collection of Victorian commercial buildings, brick storefronts, and ornate iron-shuttered facades that survived the fires of 1856 and were recognized by the California Arts Council as a Cultural District.
