EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION

Georis Winery occupies a low-slung courtyard building on West Carmel Valley Road, its tasting room opening onto a sun-drenched patio where estate-grown Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot are poured alongside wines from neighboring small producers. The vines that supply the tasting room are planted on the estate just up the valley, and the wine reflects the warm days and cool coastal nights that define Carmel Valley's growing conditions. The surrounding stretch of Pilot Road holds several other independently owned tasting rooms within easy walking distance, each with its own production story and pace. Open Wednesday through Sunday.

OPERATOR STORY

Georis Winery was established in Carmel Valley in the 1980s as an estate vineyard focused on Bordeaux varieties, one of the earlier operations to define the valley's wine identity. The winery is family-owned and has operated in the village for decades, with the estate vineyard supplying the tasting room directly. The same family also runs Cowgirl Winery a short walk away and Corkscrew Cafe next door, the three sharing a sourcing philosophy rooted in Carmel Valley's agricultural character.
