Glen Ellen Star was opened in 2012 by a husband-and-wife team who chose to move to Glen Ellen specifically to open a neighborhood restaurant rooted in the community rather than a destination fine dining room. The chef trained at some of the country's top fine dining kitchens before settling in the village. The menu is built around a wood-burning oven and rotisserie and changes with the seasons. The restaurant has become the most coveted table in Glen Ellen and is repeatedly cited by locals and food media alike as the defining dining experience of the village.
