EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION

The Pacific Beach boardwalk stretches two miles from Law Street south to the Mission Beach jetty, past lifeguard towers, beach volleyball courts, surf breaks, and the 1925 Giant Dipper rollercoaster at Belmont Park. The path is flat, paved, and almost entirely car-free. About five minutes south of Tower23, Crystal Pier juts 872 feet into the Pacific, its deck lined with 29 white-and-blue wooden cottages built in 1936, the only hotel built on a pier in California. Worth walking to the end before continuing south.

OPERATOR STORY

The Pacific Beach boardwalk, Ocean Walk, is a two-mile paved public promenade managed by the City of San Diego, running from Law Street south to the Mission Beach jetty. One of San Diego's most beloved public amenities, it follows the shoreline past lifeguard towers, beach volleyball courts, surf breaks, and the Mission Beach rollercoaster at Belmont Park.
