EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION
The Salinas River runs along the western edge of Paso Robles, offering a quiet riparian corridor of cottonwoods, willows, and native grasses that forms a sharp contrast with the surrounding wine country landscape. The river trail follows the water's edge through shaded corridors where river otters, great blue herons, and red-tailed hawks are regular sightings. Flat and easy in both directions, equally good for a 30-minute loop or a longer morning ramble.
OPERATOR STORY
The Salinas River corridor through Paso Robles is maintained by the City of Paso Robles as public open space. The river flows south through the Central Coast toward the Pacific, one of the few remaining undeveloped riparian corridors in a region otherwise defined by viticulture.
