EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION
Up a flight of stairs on Crescent Avenue, the second-floor dining room looks directly over Avalon Harbor, with windows on three sides and a view that softens as the ferry lights cross the channel after dark. The menu is built around locally caught fish, 28-day aged steaks, and a wine list curated over five decades in the business. The white sea bass, when it's running, is the thing to order. Reserve a window table and get there early. The room fills every night.
OPERATOR STORY
The owner is a third-generation Catalina islander whose grandfather was Avalon's first judge and whose family's roots on the island predate the Wrigley era. He started as a busboy at the same address in 1972 at age fourteen, worked through every position, and bought the place outright in 2001. His grandchildren are the fifth generation on the island.
