EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION
The rooftop at The Surfrider is exclusively for hotel guests. No reservations possible from the outside, which makes every seat feel like a private privilege. The bar and restaurant occupy the full top floor of the two-story building, with panoramic views of First Point surf break, the historic Malibu Pier, and the Santa Monica Mountains catching the last light. The menu is coastal California: seasonal, organic, locally sourced. Three front-row seats face the break directly. The rooftop is equally the right place for a morning coffee and surf check as it is for a full dinner with wine.
OPERATOR STORY
The Surfrider's guest-only rooftop is one of the few dining venues in Malibu completely off-limits to non-guests, a deliberate choice by the founders to preserve the hotel's private beach house character. The menu focuses on local, seasonal, and organic ingredients. The view is uninterrupted: First Point, the 1905 Malibu Pier, and the Santa Monica Mountains. The kitchen operates under Casetta Group's hospitality program.
