Originally built in 1947, the property was painstakingly restored by Nomada Hotel Group over two and a half years, preserving the building's Googie architecture while completely reinventing it inside with bespoke furniture, Pierre Frey fabrics, and handmade Moroccan tiles. The three-acre property has 28 individually designed rooms opening onto gardens, hammocks, and fire pits, with a 21-and-over heated pool at the center and Ciao Papi, a seasonal Cal-Italian restaurant, poolside.OWNER STORY
River Lodge Paso Robles traces its origins to the original 1947 motel at the junction of Highways 101 and 46, known for decades by its bright red roadside sign overlooking the Salinas River. Nomada Hotel Group, a Central Coast company focused on restoring lost mid-century properties, acquired the vacant site in 2022 and spent two and a half years on a floor-to-rafters renovation that preserved the Googie architecture while reinventing the interiors with Pierre Frey fabrics, handmade Moroccan tilework, and bespoke furniture for 28 individually designed rooms. The property reopened in June 2024.
