PROPERTY DESCRIPTION
One of Palm Springs' original motor courts, built in the 1920s by Buffalo Bill's cousin Harriet Cody, Casa Cody is the oldest operating hotel in Palm Springs and a designated historic property. The compound of whitewashed adobe bungalows is arranged around two pools in a lush garden of palms, bougainvillea, and citrus that evokes the Coachella Valley's pre-development character. Operated by Casetta Group, the property has been gently modernized while preserving the handmade, human-scaled quality that distinguishes it from the architectural maximalism of newer Palm Springs boutique hotels.OWNER STORY
Casa Cody was founded in the 1920s by Harriet Cody, a cousin of Buffalo Bill who traveled from Hollywood by wagon and settled this land at the edge of the desert. It is the oldest continuously operating hotel in Palm Springs and a designated Class 1 Historic Site. Casetta Group acquired the property in 2017, working with the founding family's descendants and the city's preservation office to keep that history intact. The 30 accommodations include four historic houses: the Olympic Cottage from the 1932 LA Olympics, Winter's House designed by Myron Hunt, the original Adobe House, and Harriet's Cottage.
