The owner acquired the Culver Hotel in 2007 when the 1924 flatiron had been largely neglected. Not a hotelier by background, she saw a building with a century of accumulated character and spent fifteen years restoring it with vintage furnishings, period wallpaper, deep colors, and original art she sourced herself. When the hotel reopened in 2022 she brought in Proper Hospitality under their Collective portfolio, preserving her creative control while adding the operational infrastructure it needed. The Culver Studios lot, the Wizard of Oz cast, a century of Hollywood lore: ownership here means treating that history as something worth honoring.
