The Inn at 2nd & C occupies the Historic Eagle House, a four-story Victorian built in 1888 on the corner of 2nd and C Streets in Old Town Eureka, one block from Humboldt Bay. Continuously operating as a hotel since it opened, it is among the oldest inns in California. The current owners bought it in 2017 and restored it while preserving the Victorian architecture, antique-filled rooms, and grand theater ballroom. Phatsy Kline's Parlor Lounge serves tapas and cocktails downstairs live music fills the ballroom above most weeks.OWNER STORY
The Eagle House was built in 1888 and has operated continuously as a hotel ever since, making it one of the oldest inns in California. In 2017, two Eureka-born sisters and their spouses bought the building out of underuse and spent years restoring it. One owner's background in event production shaped what the inn became — a programmed space as much as a place to sleep. The grand theater ballroom with its stained-glass ceiling hosts weekly live music, and Phatsy Kline's Parlor Lounge serves tapas below. The 23 antique-furnished rooms include organic breakfast, and all four owners are embedded in Eureka.
