In 1972 a young East Coast couple invested their life savings into a small motor lodge on a Sonoma Coast bluff, a bet that became Woodside Hospitality Group. Their children grew up here, and the family has owned it for more than five decades, expanding to 83 rooms, nearly all with private balconies, fireplaces, and bay views. The Lodge underwent a full redesign and rename on its 50th anniversary in 2022. Drakes Sonoma Coast celebrates the local bounty with a menu built on Sonoma County farms, fishermen, and dairies, Valley Ford cheeses, Tomales Bay clams, local black cod, in a dining room with panoramic views of Bodega Head and the Pacific.
