Tower23 was developed and opened in 2005 by Eat.Drink.Sleep (EDS) Hospitality Group, a Pacific Beach-based company, and was the first new beachfront hotel to open in Southern California in nearly a decade. The hotel was designed around its exact location: named for lifeguard tower #23, built to feel like it belongs on this specific block. EDS also owns and operates Belmont Park, Moondoggies, and other Pacific Beach properties, making Tower23 the anchor of a distinctly local hospitality ecosystem. The Curator Hotels affiliation provides distribution only and the hotel is operated entirely by EDS.
